Pharr is an associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Texas A&M University. Pharr directs a solid mechanics research group in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M.

Research

Pharr’s research focuses on experimental and theoretical mechanics of materials and its coupling to other fields, primarily that of electro-chemo-mechanics and ion transport. As part of reMIND, he leads cross-cutting efforts to investigate the role of mechanical strain in altering electronic and structural transformations. He further co-leads center-wide recruitment, retention, and professional development efforts.
